Time:2020-01-03
The Hotel and Tourism Engineering Management Research Center of Jiangnan Management was established on January 1, 2013. It mainly focuses on hotel, cultural tourism and super high-rise projects as its research objects, with the research goals of talent cultivation, technical research and technical support. Since its establishment, the company has successfully held over 20 training sessions, 9 on-site seminars, cultivated more than 100 outstanding management and technical talents, and published over 20 research results. These efforts have played a crucial role in promoting the operation and production of the company's hotel and tourism projects.

On June 21st, under the guidance of the company's chief engineer, Bao Weijian, and the Science and Technology Information Department, the Hotel and Tourism Engineering Management Research Center organized and held the "2019 Hotel and Tourism Research Center On-site Seminar". Technical experts from various lines of the company's hotel tourism and related fields, along with specially invited external experts, conducted in-depth investigations and academic discussions and exchanges at the Hunan Xiangjiang Happy City Ice and Snow World and the five-star hotel project (i.e., the Changsha Mine Pit Ecological Restoration and Utilization Project).

The mine pit project is located in the old industrial base of Pingtang Town, Yuelu District, Changsha City. It was originally the mining area of Xinsheng Cement Factory. After more than 50 years of mining, it has formed the current 100-meter-deep pit. It is the first world-class, super-large innovative, and comprehensive tourism industry project in Hunan Province. It features a unique project creativity in the world, a world-class project design, and a dual-type model project construction. Its design and construction are bold and innovative works based on the transformation of a mine pit. It is the world's only ice and snow amusement project erected in a mine pit and was once selected by the internationally renowned Discovery Channel as one of the five most difficult projects to complete globally. After its completion, it will become a national tourism industry giant surpassing Chimelong in Guangzhou and OCT in the east of Shenzhen. It can create 8,000 direct jobs and 50,000 indirect jobs, receive up to 100,000 tourists per day and over 15 million tourists annually, and drive the vigorous development of surrounding industries.

At the beginning of the meeting, Huang Dengbin, the director of the company's Hotel and Tourism Engineering Management Research Center, first introduced the development overview of the research center and delivered a special lecture titled "A Brief Analysis of Control Requirements for Insulation, Ice and Snow Making, Amusement Equipment, and Main Packaging in Mine Pit Projects", allowing the participants present to have their first exposure to brand-new professional technical contents such as mine pit insulation and ice and snow manufacturing. Hu Yao, the deputy director of the center, delivered an equally wonderful lecture on "Management of Super High-rise Buildings". While learning about the design requirements of super high-rise buildings, Director Hu shared her insights and experiences in the project management process. Guo Junping, the deputy director of the center, presented an introduction to the steam condensate recovery system in the washing machine room of a certain hotel to the attendees, highlighting the technical features of energy conservation and environmental protection in the hotel.

The company specially invited Du Yalin, an expert in amusement operation and maintenance, to give a lecture titled "The Development Rules and Investment Strategies of Water Parks". From the perspective of operation and investment, he explained to the attendees how to invest more economically and efficiently to increase the value of the project, how to attract tourists and promote consumption, and put forward very valuable and constructive suggestions.
Then, Chen Xiansheng, a key member of the research center, delivered a presentation titled "Construction and Precautions of Recyclable Anchor Cables for Deep Foundation Pit Support", explaining on-site construction techniques. Xiang Guocheng presented "Some Issues and Thoughts in the EPC Implementation Process", sharing thoughts on EPC implementation under the new situation. Chen Ming also shared "Actual Measurement and Safety Management Materials" with the center members Zhang Wei's "Pre-control Planning for the Construction Quality of Outdoor Theme Parks in Jinan Cultural Tourism City" brought another distinctive achievement of a tourism project to the audience. Zhang Daqing, who just joined the center this year, won everyone's praise with his wonderful speech on "Pre-Project Management Planning for Taishan Shennong Smart Valley Big Data Industrial Park Project". There were also two young employees who just joined the center, Pan Chenkai and Wu Haochen. Presenting themselves before everyone with a brand-new look, they showcase the true colors of outstanding youth in the process of bringing knowledge to everyone.

The next day, led by Liu Xi, the general manager of the Hunan branch, and the person in charge of the mine pit project, the participants walked along the steep connecting bridge all the way to the bottom of the mine pit, deeply impressed by the extremely grand "one of the five most difficult projects to complete in the world" before them.
At the construction site of the "Happy Snow Field" project, the grandeur here catches the visitors' eyes. The entire indoor space is 25 meters high, with 14 snow-making machines installed on the ceiling. The mural before our eyes is a masterpiece that was sprayed bit by bit by the creative team from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. It can be said that grandeur and details coexist, and the craftsmanship and ingenuity are unique! During the inspection, the participants expressed their unique insights and experiences in hotel tourism on the site of the mine project one after another, saying that they had broadened their horizons. They stated that they would further accumulate professional knowledge in their work and study in the future and work together to take the company's research on hotel tourism to a new level!

The on-site discussion and learning atmosphere of this symposium was intense. Combined with on-site investigations, it fully integrated academic research theories with engineering management practices, achieving a complete success. Finally, Wu Huiqun, the general manager of the Science and Technology Information Department, concluded that the members of the research center should make full use of all resources, work together with one heart, learn and promote each other, actively complete various research tasks, and promote the innovation, development and growth of the research center. Manager Wu stated that in 2019, the Hotel Tourism Engineering Management Research Center will further enrich its management methods, further strengthen database construction, and continuously meet the development needs in terms of mechanism operation, talent cultivation, and resource information sharing of the research center. Research leadership and talent empowerment: In the future, the research center will stand at the forefront of technology, cultivate professional talents, and actively contribute to the company's hotel and tourism projects!
